Recursor (Baiju Parthan)

Recursor is an attempt to visualize how the pace of technological change alters our perception of the world. In computer programming, the term ‘Recursor’ refers to program modules that act repeatedly upon its own process output.

To simplify, the output of a process becomes the input of the same process repeatedly in an ongoing process run.

The explosive pace of technological change, especially digital and information technology that progresses like a Recursor program module far out paces the gradual historical progression of the social and geopolitical events we are accustomed to.

The show explores the fallout of the disjuncture between history and technology through re-imagined virtual cityscapes and digitally reconstituted flora and fauna.
